Chris Snyder Bio

Welcome! Thanks for visiting my district page. My name is Chris Snyder and I teach Kindergarten at Van Allen Elementary here in Mt. Pleasant. I have been teaching since 2001. I enjoy teaching kindergarten! If you visit my classroom, you will see a bright primary colored classroom where we may be doing Jolly Phonics, Envision Math or working on our reading skills.

 

I earned my Bachelors Degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in December of 2000. I also completed my Reading Endorsement at that time. I subbed in the district until June when I was hired as a Title I Reading teacher at Salem Elementary. I taught at Salem for a couple of years and then transferred into Van Allen where I taught Title I Reading and then Kindergarten. I love teaching Kindergarten. They are so sweet and special at this age. I have also completed my Masters Degree from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

 

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my husband and our three daughters. We love taking walks and attending Panther sporting events and Iowa Hawkeye events. I also love reading. In the summer, you will often find me on my deck with a good book in my hands.
